Sewage Service

Wastewater and sewer service is provided by the Town of Flower Mound and is included on the same monthly utility bill as water. Sewer rates are calculated using winter averaging, based on your water consumption during December, January, and February.

Garbage & Recycling

Trash and recycling collection is handled by Republic Services and costs $16.05 plus tax monthly ($14.41 for seniors 65+). Service includes a 95-gallon trash cart, 95-gallon recycling cart, and weekly bulk and brush pickup. Collection occurs once weekly on a designated day based on your location. Garbage service automatically begins when water service is activated, and Republic Services will deliver your carts upon account creation.

You'll need a completed residential utility application and a government-issued ID such as a driver's license, passport, or visa. Optionally, you can provide a letter of credit from a previous utility provider to waive the deposit requirement.

The $60 deposit can be waived upfront with a letter of credit from a previous provider showing no late payments or returned checks in the past 12 months. Otherwise, the deposit is credited to your account after 12 consecutive months of on-time payments.

Most residences are served by the Town of Flower Mound, but some apartment complexes have private water utilities. A small area is also served by Flower Mound MUD 1. Contact your property manager to confirm your water provider before setting up service.
