City of Round Rock Utilities provides water service for most Round Rock residents. Sewage Service

Wastewater service is bundled with water and billed through City of Round Rock Utilities. Sewer charges are based on your winter water usage average (November through February), which estimates typical indoor consumption. The monthly residential service charge is $24.69, effective November 1, 2025.

Garbage & Recycling

Republic Services handles garbage and recycling collection under contract with the city. Garbage is collected weekly and recycling every other week on the same day—collection day varies by address. Place carts curbside before 7 a.m. with wheels facing the curb and lids closed. In-city residents receive these services as part of their utility billing and may schedule one free bulk pickup per year by calling Republic Services at 512-255-4980 at least one week in advance.

You'll need a government-issued photo ID for the applicant and co-applicant if applicable. The city may also request a lease agreement or proof of property ownership. Upload documents with your online application or bring them to City Hall.

Yes, a deposit based on meter size is required, plus a $25 connection fee. Deposits are refundable after 12 months of on-time payments or when service ends. Waivers may be available with a utility credit letter or for customers 65 and older.

A technician appointment is required to turn on gas, and someone must be home during the visit. Appointments are available Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

Deposit requirements are based on a credit check. Providing your Social Security Number during signup helps Atmos Energy determine if a deposit is necessary. If no SSN is provided, a deposit may be assessed.
