The City of Sugar Land Water Utilities Department provides water service to residents within city limits. You can apply online, by email, mail, or in person at City Hall located at 2700 Town Center Blvd. N. The department requires one working day notice to connect service. Sewage Service

Wastewater service is bundled with water service through the City of Sugar Land Water Utilities Department. The city operates and maintains sanitary sewer lift stations and wastewater treatment facilities. Homeowners are responsible for maintaining water and wastewater lines that connect from their property to the city’s main lines located in utility easements.

Garbage & Recycling

Residents who sign up for water service are automatically enrolled in garbage and recycling collection provided by Republic Services. Service includes twice-weekly garbage pickup, weekly recycling, weekly green waste collection, and monthly bulky waste pickup. Standard service provides a 95-gallon garbage cart and 65-gallon recycling cart. Find your specific collection schedule using the MyNeighborhood tool at sugarlandtx.gov. For cart delivery or service issues, contact Republic Services at 713-726-7307 or the city at 311.

A $50 deposit is required unless you provide a letter of reference from a previous utility company showing no outstanding balance and no disconnections for nonpayment during the last 12 consecutive billing cycles. Submit the letter to [email protected] within two weeks of applying.

The city requires one working day notice to connect water service. Connections occur Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., excluding holidays. Same-day service is available for a $25 service initiation fee.
