Sewage Service

Sewer service is bundled with water through Arlington Water Utilities as part of the city’s combined utility billing. Both services are activated together when you set up new water service, so no separate application is needed for sewer.

Garbage & Recycling

Trash collection is included with your bundled utility bill and provided by Republic Services under contract with the City of Arlington. Garbage is collected weekly, while recycling and bulk pickup occur bi-weekly. Collection days vary by address—contact Republic Services at 817-317-2000 or check the city website to find your schedule. Blue recycling carts are provided at no additional cost, and Arlington residents receive three free landfill drop-off visits per year.

The residential deposit is $160, plus a $47 activation fee on your first bill. Deposit waivers are available for customers with 12 or more consecutive months of excellent payment history with Arlington Water Utilities and no past due fees or service issues.

You'll need your service address, mailing address (if different), contact phone number, driver's license number, and Social Security number. Commercial accounts require a Federal Tax ID. All previous Arlington Water Utilities accounts must be paid in full before new service begins.

Requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance, with service activation typically taking two business days. Same-day activation is available but incurs an additional fee. For emergencies outside business hours, call the 24-hour line at 817-459-5900.
