Set Up Water Service

Sewage Service

Wastewater and sewer service is bundled with your water account through City of Leander Utilities. The city operates two wastewater treatment facilities serving residential customers. Monthly sewer charges are based on your meter size plus consumption and appear on your combined water bill.

Garbage & Recycling

Garbage collection is provided by Al Clawson Disposal, Inc. (ACDI) through a city contract, with charges included on your water bill. Pickup occurs once weekly, Monday through Friday depending on your subdivision. Carts must be curbside by 6am. Single-stream recycling is collected bi-weekly and accepts plastics #1-7, metal cans, glass, cardboard, and paper. The city also hosts spring and fall cleanup events for additional disposal needs.

Standard residential service requires a $100 deposit plus a $20 service charge for a 5/8" meter. These fees are billed on your first statement rather than paid upfront. After one year of good payment history, you can request a 50% deposit credit in writing.

You'll need photo identification with your signature. If you're applying for senior or disability discounts, bring valid proof of age (65 or older) or provide your SSA or VA disability award letter when submitting your application.

Water service connections require 24-hour notice and can be activated the following business day. Service is not connected on city holidays. You can submit your application online through 2TurnItOn, by email, in person at City Hall, or by fax.
