Sewage Service

Wastewater and sewer service is bundled with water service and billed together by the City of Mission Utility Billing Department. This system has been in operation since the early 1940s. For sewer emergencies, call 956-580-8660, which is available 24 hours a day.

Garbage & Recycling

The City of Mission Sanitation Department provides garbage collection, which is included with your water and sewer utility billing. Residential garbage is collected twice per week, with brush pickup once per month. Contact the Sanitation Department at 956-583-2564 for your specific collection days. Mobile recycling trailers are available at 15th and Perkins Street and at 105 Abelino Farias.

New customers must apply in person at City Hall during lobby hours (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm). Alternatively, you can send an authorized representative with a signed letter, or fax documents to 956-580-8659. Online signup is not currently available.

You'll need a valid driver's license or state-issued ID for each person requesting service, a formal rental lease agreement or warranty deed if you own the property, and a completed Utility Service Application. Mexican Nationals may use a current passport, visa, or matricula.

Deposit requirements are not published online. Contact the City of Mission Utility Billing Department at 956-580-8660 for current deposit information. Requests submitted after 3pm may be processed the following business day.
