Texarkana Water Utilities (TWU) provides water service to residents throughout Texarkana. To establish service, complete the online Residential Service Application on their website and email required documents to [email protected]. The TWU office is located at 801 Wood Street, Texarkana, TX 75501. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a drive-thru window open from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Sewage Service

Texarkana Water Utilities operates both water and sewer services as a combined department. The utility manages the city’s water treatment plant and sewer infrastructure. Sewer charges are automatically included on your monthly water bill, so there’s no separate setup required for sewage service.

Garbage & Recycling

Waste Management provides garbage and recycling collection in Texarkana, but service is set up through Texarkana Water Utilities at 903-798-3800. Residents receive a trash container and recycling cart with weekly curbside pickup. Bulk waste collection of up to 4 cubic yards is available once per month. Curbside recycling accepts aluminum and tin cans, paper, cardboard, and certain plastics. For service issues or additional bulk pickup, contact Waste Management directly at 903-794-4111.

You'll need a government-issued photo ID, a completed service application, and either a lease agreement if you're renting or proof of purchase if you're buying the property. Email documents to [email protected] after completing the online application.

ELECTRICITY

Electricity in Texarkana

Texarkana is not in a deregulated electricity market, which means residents cannot choose their electricity provider. AEP SWEPCO (Southwestern Electric Power Company) is the designated utility serving most of Texarkana and the surrounding area. Some portions of Bowie County may be served by Bowie Cass Electric Co-Op.
